Very Impressed
I have three dogs and a cat and was so happy that a new vet opened up in the area. Until now, I have not been pleased with any vet that I had been to. When I went to Assisi, I was immediately impressed at how nice and clean the place was. The nurse was very nice and the doctor was really down to earth. He gave me all the details and didn't force me into anything I didn't really need. I would highly recommend this place, I think I have found a vet for life, and I hope you do too!

Fantastic Animal Care Always
My dogs have always been attended to with professionalism and care at this facility. My dogs look forward to visiting and hanging out at this office. This office is patient, especially with my dogs (Staffordshire Bull Terriers). I have yet to experience anything but outstanding services. Dr. Guzman has helped my 1 dog who was very ill with allergies do a complete turn around. The doctor has also assisted my other dog with immediate help when it ate rat poison. They were ready on hand when I called and arrived there. This facility is the only Nassau County office that has helped my dogs 100%.

Best Doc & Hospital in New York
Simply put WOW!!! The doctor and staff are amazing. The care and consideration I received for my dog and 2 cats was unbelievable. I was able to take an on the spot tour of this place and it blew my mind. This place is like a small people hospital but spotless. Everybody from reception to the doctor, even the kennel staff, just seemed to know exactly how to handle me and my pets. They were so caring and understanding. I would highly recommend.

Luv This Hospital
Assisi Vet Hospital saw me through a very difficult time with my dog. From start to finish the Dr. & staff were very kind and compassionate. I have also been back many times for many different things and I can't say enough wonderful things about this place!!!!

Top-Notch Hospital
As the proud and loving owner of a 3-year old Yorkie and 5-year Shih Tzu, I’m glad to fully endorse Dr. Guzman and his staff, who are the absolute best on Long Island. I feel very comfortable bringing my dogs to this nice, new, state of the art facility, knowing that they are assured to receive the best care. Dr. Guzman is friendly, sincere and thoroughly enjoys his job. He truly cares for each animal that enters his building. Bottom line, I adore my dogs would not bring them anywhere else…

Best Vet Ever
I went there for a second opinion on my diabetic cat and it was unbelievable. It seemed as if everybody from the receptionist to the nurses to the doctor had known me for years. Even my cat who is normally crazy at the vet seemed as if she was more calm and not as stressed. Most importantly I was able to stop giving insulin injections and now have her sugar normal only on a special diet. Can't say enough about them. Not only did they save me a lot of money, but they made my cat not hate me any more by stopping the insulin injections.

Wow! Wow! Wow!
Dr. Guzman: WOW! WOW! WOW! Where do I begin about Assisi!? Well let me tell you the story! I found myself in a little bit of a tussle the other night, when my slightly overweight cat Angelina decided to eat some ice cream. Normally, this isn’t a problem (a few licks here and a few licks there) but this time, she ate half the carton! In a frenzy of a panic, I decided to call this new local veterinarian who i had heard great things about for the past year. I called and the wonderful lady who answered the phone told me to come right down in an instant! Angelina and I walked into this clean exam room and waited no more than 60 seconds before a pretty young nurse came in and introduced herself to us. I remember the nurse well because she said “a chubby kitty is a happy kitty”, and she was going to get some general information on what happened to my kitty. After she took Angelina’s temperature, she went and got the doctor and he gave my kitty and I his full attention. He sent us home with some medication and said Angelina should be a-ok! The doc offered me a tour of the hospital and what really impressed me were the floors that have heat coming out of them and the isolation center that has direct circulation with outside air so no sicknesses and germs can be transmitted to healthy animals! The cat condo area has a whole wall of windows, so I know if I ever need to board my animals they will be well entertained with the bird feeders they have strategically placed outside each window. Another plus is that they have a groomer on site! I was sold and switched all my animals to Assisi Veterinary Hospital! Dr Guzman, nurses and staff are the best around and get an A+ ! If you are as crazy about your four legged children as I am, you'll want to switch to Assisi today! (or at least go in and ask for a tour!)

This Dr is fantastic
He helped my dog who had awful allergies for years and after 1 visit he cured her 99%. My new puppy adores this office and the staff. There facility is clean, high tech and professional. I would highly recommend this office to anyone who has any pets.

The Best Vet Hospital
Assisi Veterinary Hospital has been taking care of my needs since 6/07. The receptionist are warm and friendly. The technicians are so gentle with me since I don't like my nails being cut. They take their time with me and are very understanding to my needs. I can be very difficult at times. The Dr. is wonderful and takes good care of me. I had my teeth cleaned and blood work done without any problems. I have even boarded there while my human went on vacation, even though I wanted to go too. I don't think that I would let my humans take me anywhere else but Assisi. I recommend this hospital to all my 4 legged friends out there.

I have been following Dr. Ricarlos Guzman for years
I am writing this because I find that most people only write things if hey have something bad to say. I have been using Dr. Ricarlos (AKA Rick) Guzman for over 7 years. Even when he was working in Long Beach he always treated me and my owner with respect and kindness. We’ve had to put some dogs down but always felt comforted when we’ve had to do so. I’m actually one of those crazy dogs that would follow him anywhere. It’s always nice when he also speaks Spanish to help my mom understand certain things especially what and how much to feed me. I have had multiple dogs treated by Dr. Guzman and his staff for many years and never once treated me in any other way but professional. He is always looking out for my best interests at heart. Many times he gives you multiple answers to problems and tries to see which is best for my owner and me. When I went to go visit him at his new hospital Assisi Veterinary I was extremely impressed. I know this was something he had been working on for a long time but this place was beautiful. Radiant heated floors, outdoor views, laser, special bacterial filters in the air conditioning just to name a few things that I could remember. The staff seemed to model themselves after Dr. Guzman, outgoing, polite, and professional. After reacquainting myself with Dr. Guzman he noticed that it was raining outside. What did he do? Of course he pulled up he truck and gave me a ride to my house. If anyone can tell me the last time their vet personally took them home so as to not get wet was I would be very surprised. This place has it all but most importantly the staff is excellent and the Dr. is unbelievable.

Very Impressed With Assisi
I had the pleasure of stopping but Assisi Veterinary Hospital today on my walk just to see the facility and get to know the people. I am new to the neighborhood so was looking for a good Dr. in the area. This was one of the friendliest staffs we have ever seen. It was like going into a Hilton reception area. We were able to take a spot on tour of the hospital, boarding and grooming areas. The thing that impressed me the most was the cleanliness. You could not tell by the smell that this was a veterinary hospital. This was cleaner than most homes I’ve been to. Everybody was professional and seemed to genuinely care for the animals. I briefly met Dr. Guzman while on the tour and he made time for me to talk about health and things that I should be doing to keep healthy. Buy the end of the tour one of the nurses noticed that I needed a nail trim. I was so good they didn’t even charge me for the pedicure. I was very impressed with the care and staff at Assisi Veterinary. I’ll be back for bathing and exams for sure.
